Mark Wright Visit
Aldworth School welcomed Mark Wright, the BBC Apprentice 2014 winner, on Friday 15 April. He attended an event organised by Be Wiser Business Insurance aimed at providing Year 10 and 11 students with more information on level 2, level 3 and degree level qualifications offered by the company.
In his presentation to students Mark explained how he had gone from arriving in London with just £140 in his pocket to then securing £250,000 from winning the Apprentice and how he is now, in partnership with Alan Sugar, running a multi-million pound business. He also shared his continued ambitions for the future. Students had prepared questions for him and he was happy to respond and also remained at the end to have a few photographs with students.
We were particularly impressed to hear that Mark values the coaching he receives and mentioned Lord Sugar and Mark Bower-Dyke (from Be Wiser) specifically as mentors. This was particularly pertinent to some of our Year 11 students who receive mentoring from staff and we are hoping to be able to increase our mentoring capacity next year.
