Head Girl / Head Boy
Lauren is our Head Girl and George is our Head Boy. They are supported by deputies and senior prefects. Between them they lead the other prefects and represent us at key events. They chair the Whole School Student Council and are invited to some Senior Leadership Team meetings as part of their role.
The process to become a Head Boy or Girl at Aldworth involves a rigorous application process and views from staff and students are sought. Once the applications are in we complete an initial shortlist. These candidates prepare and present their ideas to their peers in a special year group assembly. The year group participate in a vote and further shortlisting occurs and we move to an interview stage. Those shortlisted for interview attend a panel interview and deliver a presentation as well as being interviewed. The panel then triangulate all the information gathered and select the Head Girl, Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and the Senior Prefects.
This year the panel was made up of Mr McCabe (our Headteacher), Miss Smith (our Year Leader) and Mrs Chivers (one of our governors). All students received individual feedback from Mr McCabe.
The interview panel made this collective statement: "The quality of the candidates and the preparation was outstanding. Each and every applicant took the process seriously and we were impressed with just how involved these students are in the school, extra-curricular activities, volunteering in the local community and the sense of responsibility they demonstrate day to day. We are confident that the future will be in the safe hands of the generations to come!"
