Dear Parents / Carers,
Welcome to our school website. Our school is a vibrant learning community with an ethos of ambition and achievement. We have high expectations of our students and this is reflected in their progress, aspirations and conduct around the school. We were judged as good in all categories by OFSTED in February last year and you are welcome to view our OFSTED report, which is available on this website.
As a Hampshire school we have an annual visit from a senior County Council Education Inspector and she made the following comments in her 2014 report:
“There are calm and orderly environments”
“Students are offered a degree of choice and independence which they are enjoying and embracing”
“Discussion and structured conversations lead to greater participation and enjoyment”
This is reflected in our reports to parents in which the vast majority of our students have been judged, by subject teachers, as either having outstanding or good attitudes to learning. Aldworth is a successful school and we are a popular choice with parents.
We currently have 870 students on roll. In September 2013 we were over-subscribed with applications for Year 6 to 7 transfer and have 200 students (our maximum permitted number) in our current Year 7. We are also over-subscribed for entry in September 2014 which will see our student population rise to 950 in the autumn term.
We are excited about our building programme in that we are set to start a £1.5 million external refurbishment programme on our largest building. This will enhance an already impressive site. If you want to find out more about us, please take a few moments to explore the rest of the website as we have recently significantly expanded its capacity.
We had a very enjoyable and successful Ski Trip to Mallnitz in Austria over the half term break.
