Monday 21 September 2015, 5.30 - 8.00pm. Talk by the Headteacher and other senior staff at 5.45pm and 6.45pm in the hall.
Dear Parents / Carers,
Welcome to our school website. At Aldworth we have high expectations of our students and this is reflected in their progress, aspirations and conduct around the school. Having analysed all reports to parents during 2014-2015 we can confirm the vast majority of our students have been judged, by their subject teachers, as either having outstanding or good attitudes to learning.
Our school is a vibrant learning community with an ethos of ambition and achievement. We were judged as good in all categories by OFSTED in February 2013 and you are welcome to view our OFSTED report, which is available on this website. We aim to prepare our students academically so they are ready to take the ‘next step’ into college. We also support each young person to enable him or her to develop personally in preparation for adult life.
The expectations we have for our young people are summed up in 3 short statements: RESPECT yourself and others, ENDEAVOUR to do your best and ACHIEVE your full potential. If you would like to know more about our ethos please click here.
Aldworth is a successful school and we are a popular choice with parents. We have seen our number on roll grow from 500 to well over 900 in the last few years. We recently completed a £1.5 million external refurbishment programme on our largest building. This has enhanced an already impressive site. If you would like to find out more about us, please take a few moments to explore the rest of the website.
If you have a child due to transfer from primary school in September 2016 then we are holding our annual Open Evening between 5.30pm and 8.00pm on Monday 21st September 2015 and our annual Open Morning between 8.45am and 11.00am on Tuesday 29th September 2015. I look forward to meeting you then and providing you with an opportunity to find out more about us. In the meantime I encourage you to view our on-line prospectus which provides an excellent introduction to our school community.
