     Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome to our school website. At Aldworth we have high expectations of our students and this is reflected in their progress, aspirations and conduct around the school. Having analysed all reports to parents during 2013-2014 we can confirm the vast majority of our students have been judged, by subject teachers, as either having outstanding or good attitudes to learning.

Our school is a vibrant learning community with an ethos of ambition and achievement. We were judged as good in all categories by OFSTED in February 2013 and you are welcome to view our OFSTED report, which is available on this website.

Our Year 11 students have worked extremely hard throughout their time at Aldworth and are now in the examination ‘season’. Last year’s cohort saw 58% achieving 5 or more A*-C GCSE grades including English and Mathematics. The English Department celebrated the best results seen in the history of the school and 74% of students achieved A*-C grades. As 70% of students achieved A*-C grades in Mathematics the overall figure for students gaining both English and Mathematics A*-C grades stood at 64%. More than 20% achieved 10 or more A*-C GCSE grades including English and Mathematics.

We recently completed a £1.5 million external refurbishment programme on our largest building. This has enhanced an already impressive site. If you would like to find out more about us, please take a few moments to explore the rest of the website.

Aldworth is a successful school and we are a popular choice with parents. We have 950 students currently on roll and have been over-subscribed with applications for Year 7 places in the last two years with 200 students on roll in our current Year 7 and Year 8 cohorts (our maximum permitted number).

We currently have a small number of vacancies in Year 7 for September 2015 and have received some enquiries about these recently. I have allocated some additional times for tours of our school, please ring and ask to speak to me directly or my PA Mrs Morgan.  We can organise that for you to find out more about us or even if you just want to look at the brand new building!

If you are considering Aldworth as a school for your child please let us know directly as we are able to provide support with the application process. In the meantime I encourage you to view our on-line prospectus which provides an excellent introduction to our school community.
