     Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome to our school website. Our school is a vibrant learning community with an ethos of ambition and achievement. We have high expectations of our students and this is reflected in their progress, aspirations and conduct around the school. Having analysed all reports to parents we can confirm the vast majority of our students have been judged, by subject teachers, as either having outstanding or good attitudes to learning.

We were judged as good in all categories by OFSTED in February last year and you are welcome to view our OFSTED report, which is available on this website.

We are excited about our building programme in that we have started a £1.5 million external refurbishment programme on our largest building, due for completion early next year. This will enhance an already impressive site. If you would like to find out more about us, please take a few moments to explore the rest of the website as we have significantly upgraded it during this academic year.

Aldworth is a successful school and we are a popular choice with parents. We currently have 870 students on roll. In September 2013 we were over-subscribed with applications for Year 7 places and have 200 students (our maximum permitted number) in our current Year 7. We are also over-subscribed for Year 7 entry in September 2014 which will see our student population rise to 950 in the autumn term.

If you have a child due to transfer from primary school in September 2015 then we are holding our annual Open Evening between 6.00pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday 23rd September 2014 and our annual Open Morning between 9.00am and 11.00am on Tuesday 30th September 2014. I look forward to meeting you then and providing you with an opportunity to find out more about us. In the meantime I encourage you to view our on-line prospectus which provides an excellent introduction to our school community.
