     Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome to our school website. Parents found out the outcomes to secondary applications on Thursday 1st March 2018. I am delighted to say that we have been over-subscribed again and have had to exceed our Published Admission Number (PAN) of 200 by offering 205 places. We were not permitted to offer more than 5 extra places but if you are disappointed by not having an offer from us, please contact me at school and I can advise you of what to do next. You can contact us on 01256 322691 or via email on enquiries@aldworth.hants.sch.uk (either way I will get back to you).

At Aldworth we have high expectations of our students and this is reflected in their progress, aspirations and conduct around the school. In the summer examinations 62% of our Year 11 students achieved  5 or more A*-C GCSE grades including English and Maths (grades 4+) in 2017. Having analysed all reports to parents during 2016-2017 we can confirm the vast majority of our students have been judged, by their subject teachers, as either having outstanding or good attitudes to learning. This is consistent across all of our year groups.

Our school is a vibrant learning community with an ethos of ambition and achievement. We received a visit from OFSTED in March 2017 and inspectors mentioned, in support of our work: "Parents are positive about the quality of teaching and the progress their children make at Aldworth" and "The Headteacher and his leaders are ambitious for the pupils in their care. They have high aspirations for pupils and have overseen a rise in the standards of attainment." You are welcome to view our OFSTED report, which is available on this website. We aim to prepare our students academically so they are ready to take the ‘next step’ into college. We also support each young person to enable him or her to develop personally in preparation for adult life.

The expectations we have for our young people are summed up in 3 short statements: RESPECT yourself and others, ENDEAVOUR to do your best and ACHIEVE your full potential. As a growing school we recognise each student as a unique individual and never lose sight of our values. If you would like to know more about our ethos please click here.

Aldworth is a successful school and we are a popular choice with parents. We have seen our numbers on roll grow from 500 to just under 1,000 in the last few years. We recently completed a £2.5 million external refurbishment programme on two of our buildings and were able to refurbish them internally as well.  We are proud of our really impressive site which provides superb facilities for our young people and we are committed to investing in their futures. If you would like to find out more about us, please take a few moments to explore the rest of our website.

We were oversubscribed for places in Year 7 for September 2017 entry and are still operating a large waiting list for this year group.

If you have a child due to transfer from primary school in September 2018 and did not receive an offer from us then please feel free to contact the school. If you wish to discuss any aspect of the admissions process, for any year group, please do not hesitate to give me a ring at school.
