     Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome to our school website. At Aldworth we have high expectations of our students and this is reflected in their progress, aspirations and conduct around the school. In the summer examinations 62% of our Year 11 students achieved  5 or more A*-C GCSE grades including English and Maths (grades 4+) in 2017. Having analysed all reports to parents during 2016-2017 we can confirm the vast majority of our students have been judged, by their subject teachers, as either having outstanding or good attitudes to learning. This is consistent across all of our year groups.

Our school is a vibrant learning community with an ethos of ambition and achievement. We received a visit from OFSTED in March 2017 and inspectors mentioned, in support of our work: "Parents are positive about the quality of teaching and the progress their children make at Aldworth" and "The Headteacher and his leaders are ambitious for the pupils in their care. They have high aspirations for pupils and have overseen a rise in the standards of attainment." You are welcome to view our OFSTED report, which is available on this website. We aim to prepare our students academically so they are ready to take the ‘next step’ into college. We also support each young person to enable him or her to develop personally in preparation for adult life.

The expectations we have for our young people are summed up in 3 short statements: RESPECT yourself and others, ENDEAVOUR to do your best and ACHIEVE your full potential. As a growing school we recognise each student as a unique individual and never lose sight of our values. If you would like to know more about our ethos please click here.

Aldworth is a successful school and we are a popular choice with parents. We have seen our numbers on roll grow from 500 to just under 1,000 in the last few years. We recently completed a £2.5 million external refurbishment programme on two of our buildings and were able to refurbish them internally as well.  We are proud of our really impressive site which provides superb facilities for our young people and we are commited to investing in their futures. If you would like to find out more about us, please take a few moments to explore the rest of our website.

We were oversubscribed for places in Year 7 for September 2017 entry and are currently operating a waiting list.

If you have a child due to transfer from primary school in September 2018 then we are also have booked in scheduled School Tours before half term. Details are on the website and all you have to do is ring and book a place. The introduction and tour takes just over an hour. I look forward to meeting you then and providing you with an opportunity to find out more about us and see the school in action for yourself. In the meantime I encourage you to view our on-line prospectus which provides an excellent introduction to our school community. If you would like to visit at any other time please give me a ring.

Applications for transfer to Year 7 for September 2018 are due into the Local Authority by 31st October 2017. Applying on-line is the best option and if you need any assistance please let us know.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of the admissions process, please do not hesitate to give me a ring at school.
