Aldworth School would like to introduce the launch of the ‘Go Further’ initiative. As part of this initiative students will have opportunities both in and out of lessons to participate in activities that will take their subject learning or life skills to the next level.
This may take the form of class based challenges, activities or initiatives or perhaps be a trip tailored to developing subject knowledge beyond what might traditionally be taught at that Key Stage. There may also be opportunities for students to experience a taster day at a local university and experience what higher education might have to offer them.
A range of Go Further strategies have been introduced in lessons to facilitate deeper student learning. One suggested strategy includes creating classroom work groups that are linked to student targets or levels, so that students can work in groups where they feel best challenged but also supported by learners who have the same areas for development in the subject as them.
It is the aim of the ‘Go Further’ initiative that all students should feel challenged in lessons to try and help them reach their full potential in subjects.
Look out for more Go Further projects as the academic year continues.
