Aldworth uses a cashless catering system for purchases at the school canteen. Parents top up their child’s catering balance using Scopay. We ask for a minimum top up of £5.
During break times, once they have chosen their food, students are asked to put their fingerprint on the reader by the tills. This is a quick way for accessing their account and reduces queueing times. Their balance is displayed at the till. Students are not able to purchase more than £5 worth of food in one day, and if necessary individual limits can be set.
All students will be registered onto the system by providing an image of their fingerprint. Please note that fingerprint images cannot be used by any other source for identification purposes. The biometric data information sheet is available to view for further details.
Certain data will be held on the system to enable accurate operation. This will include your child’s name, class, photo, account balance and meal entitlement. This data will be handled under the guidelines of GDPR. If you have any concerns please contact the school finance office.
In order for a student to be registered we need parental consent. Parents will be asked to complete and return a consent form. If consent is not provided we will provide an alternative method rather than using the student fingerprint.
